Canada tables new IP law treaties

On January 28, 2014, the Government of Canada tabled five new intellectual property law treaties designed to harmonize Canada’s IP laws and procedures with those of our significant trading partners. Global Patent Prosecution Highway (PPH) pilot agreement

The Canadian Intellectual Property Office (CIPO) announced the start of a new Global Patent Prosecution Highway (PPH) pilot program starting January 6, 2014. This agreement includes partnerships with 16 participating international intellectual property offices. The Global PPH program simplifies the PPH process by using a single set of qualifying requirements for all participating countries….
