Canada tables new IP law treaties

On January 28, 2014, the Government of Canada tabled five new intellectual property law treaties designed to harmonize Canada’s IP laws and procedures with those of our significant trading partners. This is the first official step towards ratification and implementation. These treaties include the Patent Law Treaty, which makes it easier for patent applicants and patent owners to obtain and maintain patents throughout the world by simplifying formal requirements associated with patent applications and patents.
